A glazed terracotta relief of Madonna and Christ Child came to the Berlin museums in 1916. Previously it was owned by a German collector Adolf von Beckerath who bought the relief in Florence at an antique market. The relief belongs to a rather large group of reliefs made in Della Robbia's workshop depicting "Madonna of humility", «Madonna del' Umiltà». The iconography shows us Virgin Mary sitting on the ground or on the floor with Christ Child on her knees.
