A press conference on the development of inclusivity initiatives was held in the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts. The press conference included a ceremony where a memorandum was signed by representatives of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts and the ABSOLUT Investment Group. The purpose of the partnership is to expand the scope of inclusivity-related initiatives in the Pushkin Museum and to develop digital and educational projects for visitors with special needs.

Marina D. Loshak:We are currently renovating the Museum Town of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, and some of the museum treasures are not accessible to our visitors, especially those with special needs. We are doing our best to provide opportunities to enjoy the riches of our collections through digital and special educational projects. A dedicated team will be working on this.

An extension of the “Accessible Museum” project and its expansion beyond the limits of the Pushkin Museum became possible thanks to the involvement of the ABSOLUT Investment Group and its charity fund “Absolut-Pomosch.” The memorandum on this partnership was signed by Marina Loshak, Director of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, and Aleksander Svetakov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ABSOLUT Investment Group / Chairman of the Board of “Absolut-Pomosch” Charity Fund.

Aleksander A. Svetakov:  “In 2017 we celebrated the 15th anniversary of the charity fund “Absolut-Pomosch,” which helps children who have had to face massive challenges very early in life. Some of them have lost their parents, some are gravely ill, and  some were born with serious conditions. But each of them has dreams and aspirations, and none of them have given up hope. These are strong kids who only need a helping hand to have a good life.”

The “Accessible Museum” project was launched in the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts in the fall of 2016. We currently offer tours in sign language (Russian), tactile workshops and audio descriptions, and classes and tours for children with special developmental needs. The Pushkin Museum organizes “The Inclusive Festival” and a conference on the topic for museum professionals. We are planning to conduct a summer school for our colleagues from regional museums. Our schedule also includes the development of methodology guidelines for remote education.

The “Absolut-Pomosch” Charity Fund provides help and support to seriously ill children and children with special needs, and it facilitates the social integration of orphans and remedial school graduates. In 2014 “Absolut-Pomosch” opened the first private boarding school “Absolut” for children with health limitations in the Moscow region. The fund’s mission is to improve the quality of life for children whose opportunities are limited by their physical conditions or their social circumstances. We help children who find themselves in difficult life situations.
