The project «Summer School of Inclusive Practices» is aimed for museum professionals, who work with visitors with special needs. We invite for participation staff members of inclusive and educational departments, art therapeutics, tour guides, and also teachers of creative studios and classes.

Collection of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts provides an opportunity for all the visitors to learn about the artistic culture of the world, including adults and children with limited capabilities. During many years, the museum works with guests with special needs. Active collaboration with specialized associations and educational institutions contributes to the creation of guidelines and methodologies of interaction with children and adults with disabilities. The Pushkin Museum incorporates the Center of Aesthetic Education for Children and Teenagers «Mouseion», which welcomes children with limited health capabilities among its students. In 2016 the Museum launched the program «Accessible Museum», focusing on increasing the level of inclusivity and creating additional opportunities for visitors with special needs.

The programme of Summer School of Inclusive Practices will include theoretical and practical seminars on working with children and adults with mental disabilities, with special visual abilities, and also with deaf and hard of hearing guests. Meetings, lectures, seminars and workshops will be conducted by: Irina Bakanova, Deputy Director of Research; Olga Morozova, Head of the Department of Aesthetic Education; Mariya Dreznina, art-therapeutist and artist; Nataliya Krutilina, Head of Division for Development of the Pushkin Museum; Evgeniya Kiseleva, Head of the Department of Inclusivity Programs; Svetlana Kochetkova, Irina Zaharova, Marina Kovalenko, teachers of creative studios of the Pushkin Museum; Alexander Sorokin, neuroscientist; Albina Djumaeva, coordinator of Inclusivity Programs; Irina Marinova, specialist of the Department of Visitors Services; Kseniya Voloskova, coordinator of the Volunteer Department and many more.

It is free to take part in the Summer School. Please pay attention to the fact that all expenses for travel, accommodation and meals of the Summer School’s participants are paid by the participants themselves.

Because of the limited number of places, the priority will be given to those regional applicants, whose experience best suits the goals of this educational programme.
