“Ten Masterpieces of the 19th and 20th Century European and American Art Gallery”
The Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts sponsored by Rosbank presents an educational video course for visitors who are hard of hearing or deaf highlighting the permanent exhibition at the 19th and 20th Century European and American Art Gallery. The video course includes famous masterpieces created by Claude Monet, Edgar Degas, Auguste Renoir, Vincent van Gogh, Paul Gaugin, and other masters representing various painting styles of 19th and 20th centuries. Only the world’s largest museums, such as Hermitage, Musée d'Orsay, Metropolitan Museum of Art, have collections of French paintings of this period as famous as those found in the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts. The course comprises ten videos, each video telling the story behind a particular painting, master’s biography and style peculiarities.
The video course is available on the museum YouTube channel, and it serves as the basis for a free guide helping the deaf and hard of hearing on izi.TRAVEL platform.
“Art of the Ancient World and Old Masters Paintings”
The first run of the new video course in sign language “Art of the Ancient World and Old Masters Paintings” created for visitors who are hard of hearing took place on September 25, 2017 as part of the Inclusive Festival Project. Fifteen video series of the educational project introduce visitors to the famous exhibits of the permanent exhibition at the Main Building of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, such as the Fayum Mummy Portraits, statues of Amenhotep and Rannai; painting masterpieces: Annunciation by Sandro Botticelli, Madonna in the Vineyard by Lucas Cranach the Elder, Winter Landscape with a Bird Trap by Pieter Brueghel the Younger, and Allegory of Impermanence by Bernardo Strozzi.
